Christina Hendricks "sexy curves best-looking woman in America"

Christina Hendricks jump-started her career on television in the early 2000s, with a particularly effective multi-episode contribution to the medical drama ER. On that program, she played Joyce, a battered housewife given solace -- and shelter -- by one of the female employees of Cook County Hospital. Also in 2002, Hendricks appeared in a memorable role on the short-lived cult sci-fi series Firefly as the seductive, scheming conwoman Saffron (in two episodes, one of which never aired). She continued to find steady work on television, notably co-starring with Taye_Diggs on the short-lived legal drama Kevin_Hill (2004-2005). In 2007, Hendricks took on a prominant role on one of the most promising and original new series of 2007: Mad_Men.

In that AMC serialized drama -- a saucy period show that unfolded in a Madison Avenue ad agency in 1960 -- Hendricks convincingly portrayed Joan, a predatory secretary unafraid to wrest control by flaunting her sexuality. Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks has reportedly seen off competition from Megan Fox to be crowned the best-looking woman in America by Esquire magazine.
The curvy actress is said to have scored 30 per cent of the vote in a readers' poll, landing her first place and a cover-shoot for the men's magazine.
Hendricks was closely followed by Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima in second, while Transformers actress Megan Fox was in third, according to JustJared.com.
Esquire editors will confirm the results of their poll in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Christina Hendricks combines the voluptuous curves and ample bosom so admired back in the 1960s with the sassy attitude that drives men crazy today. Add in a mane of fiery red hair and a fashion sense that does nothing to hide her assets, and you can see why this young lass has so captivated men of all ages. Size zero models take note -- Christina Hendricks may be starting something here.

Sure, the hit cable show Mad Men is packed with razor-sharp dialogue and a fascinating look at 1960s-era office life (read: scotch for breakfast, sexual harassment for lunch and cigarettes all day long), but a lot of men tune in solely to catch Christina Hendricks’ portrayal of Joan Holloway, a curvy, sultry character seemingly compromised of every fantasy-secretary cliché there is.

The producers of AMC’s ambitious new show Mad Men needed a certain type of actress to play the seductress secretary Joan Holloway -- someone with brains, boobs and bravado. They found her in Christina Hendricks. She mastered the hip-heavy “shuffle” of screen sirens like Marilyn Monroe, and used the costume department to its fullest to emphasize her physical gifts. However, real success came from the fact that she fell in love with the role.

She continues to win rave reviews as the show enters its 3rd season. The producers are so impressed by her work that they have elevated her character to more of a main player than simply a piece of eye candy, a testament to this talented woman’s skill and professionalism (and, yes, her jaw-dropping curves).
