A former Hollyoaks star, Joanna also used to write a weekly column for The Times about being a footballer’s wife, a perspective she gained as the other half of Fulham’s much-travelled Danny Murphy.
A former student of the Guildford School of Acting, Joanna Taylor's big break came in 1999 when she won the role of Geri Hudson in Channel 4 teen soap Hollyoaks. She left in 2001, and has since starred in BBC One police drama, Merseybeat as PC Jackie Brown. In 2004, Taylor appeared in the American film P.I.: Post Impact with Dean Cain. In 2005, Taylor turned to writing, contributing a weekly column (newspaper) to The Times newspaper from the perspective of a "footballer's wife" and in 2007 after taking an extended break from acting she featured in the independent British film Back in Business opposite Martin Kemp.
Personal life
Taylor is married to the England footballer Danny Murphy, whom she met through mutual friend Louis Emerick. After two failed IVF attempts, they have one child, a girl named Mya Eve Murphy, was born on 15 August 2006. Joanna ran the 2007 Great South Run for children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
